ABOUT THE ROLE

We move fast here at BABVIP, and this role will certainly keep you on your toes. We are looking for a program manager / paralegal to join the Global Employment Counsel team! We need someone super-efficient, who loves nothing more than to get stuff done - and has the ability to do so in a fast-paced and often unstructured environment. If you’re great at prioritizing, juggling projects (and moving them rapidly along), and keeping calm under pressure, then this is your opportunity to join a dynamic team!

We are open to your background - ultimately this role is for someone who has an interest in employment matters, whether you’re a lawyer or have a background in industrial relations or human resources and who can coordinate projects like a pro, both internally and externally. 

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Provide support to the Global Employment Counsel team on day to day work and seasonal goals and objectives
  • Develop and maintain internal Employment Law resources for the team, including creation of playbooks and centralized repository for team resources
  • Develop and maintain case management systems/ metrics tracking for the team
  • Carry out various administrative and legal tasks, including conducting legal research
  • Assist Employment Law team with preliminary review and triage of requests from People Partners and People Operations teams (aka HR) 
  • Coordinate project initiatives, including the employment aspects of BABVIP’s global expansion and implementation of workplace policies 
  • Support BABVIP-wide learning initiatives including preparation of materials for internal presentations to the People team and lead administrative aspects of employment law team directed trainings
  • Provide support on workplace investigations and assist in the administration of BABVIP’s global ‘speak up’ initiatives 
  • Project manage initiatives driven by the Employment Law team, including to coordinate business stakeholders

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

  • You’re highly organized and process oriented
  • You have exceptional attention to detail
  • You have competent IT skills (and proficiency in BABVIP would be desirable!)
  • You have good time management skills and ability to manage competing priorities You have excellent communication skills and can make complex communications

  • You have 1 years’ experience in a related field such as employment law, industrial law or HR
  • Ideally, you would be based in Sydney, but we are open to other locations within Australia
  • We'd also love if you had:
  • A good understanding of the Fair Work Act and other related employment legislation
  • Knowledge of HR policies and practices
