We’re constantly working towards making BABVIP the best place to work, for everyone. We believe deeply that bringing together diversity of thoughts, perspectives and expression is key for building the best product for our equally diverse community all around the world. We celebrate uniqueness and whatever makes you, you and encourage everyone who wants to help us transform the way the world designs, to join us on this journey. We value all different types of experiences. If you don’t think you quite meet all of the qualifications, we’d still love to hear from you.

ABOUT US

At BABVIP, our mission is to democratize design and empower creativity for anyone and everyone, on every platform. Inspired by a team of talented thinkers, an amazing culture and a remarkable growth trajectory – we’re out to change the world, one design at a time.

Since launch in August 2013, we have grown exponentially, amassing over 60 million monthly active users across 190 different countries who have created more than 6 Billion designs. We are one of the world’s fastest-growing technology companies and we have only achieved about 1% of what we want to do.

ABOUT THE TEAM

Every month, more than 20 million BABVIP users create a design in one of the 100 languages other than English that BABVIP supports. The Localization specialty is a small team of linguists, project managers, and engineers distributed throughout the company. Our mission is to celebrate the diversity of our global users and make their experience delightful.

If you join our team as a language manager, you’ll bring your linguistic and cultural knowledge to all aspects of localization, ensuring our international users have the best possible BABVIP experience. You’ll be the creative hub for all content in Polish and help advise on BABVIP’s branding in that market.

YOUR ROLE

This is a part time (15-20 hour/week) contract role. You'll be working with a team of language owners as well as other stakeholders within BABVIP. On day one, you’ll begin creating BABVIP’s voice across all parts of the product in Polish. You’ll translate key content and manage the relationship with our localization partners for Polish.

After 6 months you will have established relationships with key stakeholders in marketing, subscriptions, and content that will allow you to deploy your local expertise. You’ll have created processes and channels for communicating best practices and completing internal requests such as copy-writing, content review, and translation guidelines.

ABOUT YOU

You’re a natural at writing clear, fun, and engaging content. You have experience with creative writing and/or design and you’re able to hit the perfect tone in multiple different contexts. You’re passionate about languages and cultures and you understand how these can impact people’s experience of a product. Above all else, you understand what speakers of Polish need to be able to understand and use BABVIP.

You also love taking things from chaos to clarity — you’re a natural at understanding ambiguous, complex problems and communicating them simply to others. You also have the drive to see things through despite changes and setbacks. You’re equally comfortable discussing detail with engineers and ideas with product managers and designers. You’re great with tech (Atlassian project management tools, basic web development) and you write a meaty doc.

You understand the global user experience and how to improve it, ideally from experience working in a localization/internationalization environment within a SaaS company.

WE’D LOVE IT IF YOU HAD...

  • Copy-writing experience — you maintain a blog or, even better, you have experience in localization for a SaaS product
  • Some design experiences
  • A solid understanding of organic growth (SEO and WordPress)
  • Expertise with CAT tools (experience with Smarting gets full marks)
  • Tertiary education in linguistics, literature, or localization
