The People Central Team

The People Central team sits at the core of the employee lifecycle, responsible for onboarding, offboarding, and managing all queries that flow through our service desk. As the first point of contact for all People team requests and enquiries, People Central is naturally the largest team in People Ops and specializes in high volume tasks that require efficiency & precision, delivering outstanding customer service and keeping systems and data accurate.

Within People Central, the Onboarding squad works closely with our recruitment and internal teams to facilitate a seamless onboarding experience and is currently onboarding over 100 new hires each month. The Helpdesk squad is responsible for managing our ticketing channels, which includes triaging, resolving or escalating cases. Lastly, the Offboarding squad handles departures across BABVIP.


The People Central Lead is responsible for the leadership and direction of the People Central team as we grow rapidly over the coming years. We are expecting massive growth of our team globally, and will need to scale up our operations including expanding the breadth (new markets and geos) and depth of services (new capabilities) as this function becomes increasingly streamlined and automated as the engine that powers the entire People team.


  • Ensure HR services are reliable, intuitive, and responsive to the needs of the business across multiple geographies.
  • Oversee the efficient and accurate delivery of HR transactions, with a constant focus on improving delivery against service level agreements, to raise customer satisfaction, and improve organizational productivity through self-service.
  • Champion BABVIP’s people systems, processes, and tools. This includes driving new opportunities for procurement, integration and automation.
  • Understand and apply employment legislation, in partnership with legal and compliance, across all our employment processes.
  • Collaborate across the entire People team, as well as with other functional areas such as People Systems, Finance, Payroll, Total Rewards, Legal, and IT teams.
  • Responsible for seasonal goal planning and delivery, impact and salary reviews.
  • Grow skills and impact within the team by focusing on growth pathways, coaching, job rotations and stretch assignments.
  • Cultivate a high-performance, people-first team culture by pursuing excellence, empowering others, and being a force for good.

  • Extensive global experience in SLA-driven HR shared services team
  • Strong capabilities in using data to drive business insights
  • Expert in process optimization and harmonization across different regions, scaling initiatives and global project management and change implementation.
  • Familiar with best-in-class onboarding, off boarding, helpdesk and self-service practices
  • Well versed in HRIS like Workday (or similar) and ticketing systems (JIRA, Zen desk)
  • Exposure to global mobility, contingent workgroups, project and compliance, legal, and people systems technologies
  • Strong background in personal data privacy and methodologies
